Thank you for your kind words. In a time when post-election solidarity should be paramount, I am uncomfortable by the [unprovoked] defamation against me. Of all the things I have considered myself over the past thirteen years of developing my business and Red Hook life, "neophyte" has not been one of them.

When I read the "Concerns" page commentary about me, several things become obvious. Paramount is that the author has no idea who I am. A close second is that I am a "GOP old boy" (quite a contrast to "neophyte"). Those who know me [even reasonably] well know I call it as I see it, I believe in the preservation of what is good, and I seek out the useful ingredients in those I employ in business.

While I respect the difficulties the party has faced in the Bard College "voting dilemma", I have enjoyed a thirteen year relationship with the Bard community as an emergency medical services provider. I have taken [literally] countless students to the hospital in times of need, as well as treated many who did not require transport. All of these services were provided with the highest level of concern for the personal integrity of the student/patient, with no unnecessary sensationalism.

I have added to that exposure by interacting with the student/faculty body over the past five years in my law enforcement capacity. Again, I have enjoyed the occasional "challenges" that are unique to being a police officer, but always with the caring that I would give to my own kids in a similar situation. One would be hard-pressed to find a student or faculty member who could recall a medical or law enforcement situation where I was anything but compassionate and caring.

Additionally, NDP EMS has not only provided training for Bard's EMS squad, but employs a group of Bard EMT's at our Rhinebeck location, so that they may earn some money while at school, maintain their EMS skills, and serve the community we all live in.

While building a business that employs 120 local citizens may not give Bill Gates a shiver, I hardly consider my self a neophyte. I think those who criticize me before they have even had a conversation with me are predisposing the future of the Town to failure.

Glad to finally see a site that will print the truth and not bash people. We like the idea that you can respond to any articles on this site, unlike Red Hook Concerns. This town must unite. To outsiders our town is known as the "snake pit". We also feel that Rob Latimer is an excellent choice for the Town Board.
